Initial Setup of EasyNAC

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Overview

This article guides you through the initial configuration of the EasyNAC appliance after it has been installed on VMware ESX/ESXi or Hyperโ€‘V.


โœ… Prerequisites

  • EasyNAC appliance deployed and powered on

  • Console or SSH access to the appliance

  • At least three available static IP addresses

  • Admin credentials


๐Ÿ”ง Initial Setup Steps

1. Access the Appliance

  • For physical appliances:

    • Connect via Ethernet cable to default IP: 10.0.0.250/24

    • Or connect keyboard + monitor to the device.

  • For virtual appliances:

    • Open the VM console window from your hypervisor.

2. Login

  • Username: admin

  • Password: admin (default; change it during setup)

3. Run the Setup Wizard

  • From the CLI main menu, choose: 1 - Run Setup Wizard

  • Enter the following configuration:

    • Date & Time

    • Managed IP address (for GUI access)

    • Subnet mask

    • Default gateway

    • DNS servers

    • Hostname


๐Ÿ’ก Important: Keep the new admin password in a secure place. If lost without an alternate admin user, recovery may not be possible.


๐ŸŒ Web GUI Access

  1. On a browser, go to:

    https://<Managed IP Address>

  2. Supported browsers:

    • Chrome v89+

    • Firefox v65+

    • Safari v12+

    • Microsoft Edge

  3. Login with:

    • Username: admin

    • Password: the one you just set
