This article guides you through the initial configuration of the EasyNAC appliance after it has been installed on VMware ESX/ESXi or HyperโV.
โ Prerequisites
EasyNAC appliance deployed and powered on
Console or SSH access to the appliance
At least three available static IP addresses
Admin credentials
๐ง Initial Setup Steps
1. Access the Appliance
For physical appliances:
Connect via Ethernet cable to default IP: 10.0.0.250/24
Or connect keyboard + monitor to the device.
For virtual appliances:
Open the VM console window from your hypervisor.
2. Login
Username: admin
Password: admin (default; change it during setup)
3. Run the Setup Wizard
From the CLI main menu, choose: 1 - Run Setup Wizard
Enter the following configuration:
Date & Time
Managed IP address (for GUI access)
Subnet mask
Default gateway
DNS servers
Hostname
๐ก Important: Keep the new admin password in a secure place. If lost without an alternate admin user, recovery may not be possible.
๐ Web GUI Access
On a browser, go to:
https://<Managed IP Address>
Supported browsers:
Chrome v89+
Firefox v65+
Safari v12+
Microsoft Edge
Login with:
Username: admin
Password: the one you just set
